Heart Attack Warning Signs
Heart attack is the leading cause of death among women. According to survey, 5 out of 10 women die out of a stroke, but only 15 percent realize it. In addition, the signs of heart attack in women differ to that of men. Take a look at these signs in order for you to prevent a potential heart attack not only for yourself but for a love one as well.
Though the heart is located at the left side of the body, a stroke doesn’t strike on that side alone. A lot of women feel a sting or discomfort in the upper body, particularly in both arms, the neck, jaw, back or the stomach. Shortness of breath along with dizziness and hot flashes usually follow these signs.
A sudden feeling of tiredness or weakness can also be a sign of this condition. When the heart is not working properly, there will be a shortage of oxygen supply in the body, making you feel tired than usual. This can also often result to nausea and vomiting. So when you’re having these symptoms, seek help immediately.
It’s also important to note that anxiety can also be risk factor for heart attack. When you are feeling overly anxious about something, it may be that your nervous system is overreacting to the abnormal activity of your heart. The feeling may also be just a plain anxiety attack so you have to know when to draw the line.
Moreover, having sleep disturbance at night may also be a sign. Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea have been linked to stroke. When you are having difficulty breathing during sleep due to some obstructions in your throat, be careful as it can lead to high blood pressure and possibly an attack.
Take note that these signs and symptoms may not be altogether present in a heart attack, so even when you feel only one of these signs it is important to seek medical health ASAP.
As a final point, heart attack is something you shouldn’t take lightly so do your best to keep your ticker functioning properly through healthy living and regular checkups.
